Come with us for a long weekend in magical Portugal.
Thursday 21st September – Arrival in Lisbon
Today, you will all fly-in and meet us at the hostel at around 2pm. In the late afternoon (around 4.30pm) we will all join a private walking tour to check out Lisbon and learn more about history, culture and the Portugese with our fun local guide.
At around 10pm, you have the chance to go on a pub crawl (optional extra) to see nocturnal Lisbon at its best with our local partners. The pub crawl visits three bars and finishes up at one of the best clubs in the city.
Friday 22nd September – Porto & Fátima
After breakfast, you will all be taken to Porto and Fátima. On our way to Porto, we will stop at the pilgrimage site where legend has it the Virgin Mary appeared in 1917. Afterwards, we will board the coach and continue our journey to Porto. Upon arrival, you will time to discover the places by yourself, but of course we will give you useful tips and tricks what to do and see! To get a complete picture of Portugal, a trip to Porto is an absolute must. It is the country’s capital in the north and the second-biggest city after rival Lisbon.
Porto is a city full of charm and what you will see when you are there is the postcard-perfect ambience of its riverfront Ribeira district and the opportunity to learn more about (and enjoy) the port wine that ages here.
Saturday 23rd September – Beautiful Sintra
In the morning, you can either come with us (optional extra) to visit Sintra which is known for its many 19th-century Romantic architectural monuments, which has resulted in its classification as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The parishes of the town of Sintra are dotted with royal retreats, estates, castles and other buildings, including the mediaeval Castelo dos Mouros, the Pena National Palace and the Sintra National Palace.
If you don’t want to come along, you can spend another adventurous day in Lisbon. In the evening, our group gets together for a little BBQ at the hostel and a couple of drinks.
Sunday 24th September – Lagos Beach Time & Sunset watching at Cabo de San Vicente
In the morning, we make our way to the stunning Praia da Marinha, one of the most beautiful beaches the Algarve has to offer. We spend our day at the seaside, relaxing, playing games and having a little Sangria (optional extra).
In the late afternoon, we make our way to and Ponta Piedade (Lagos) for a short stop and later to Cabo de San Vicente in order to witness the sunset off the cliffs. Cabo de San Vicente is also called „The End of the World“ as it’s the southernmost point in Europe. Watching the sunset from there is just simply unforgettable!
