Saturday 26th May – Strasbourg or Europa Park
In the morning, we will arrive in Strasbourg and those of you who haven’t chosen to go to the amusement park will have the whole day to explore the city. Strasbourg is the capital and largest city of the Grand Est region of France and the official seat of the European Parliament. It’s situated near the German border; therefore, you can see how both German and French culture as well as architecture blend together. See the UNESCO-listed historical city center, visit the impressive baroque Cathedral or Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg and Palais Rohan, a former residence of the prince-bishops and cardinals of the House of Rohan, an ancient French noble family originally from Brittany. You will love the town of Strasbourg! Walk along cobblestoned streets lined with half-timbered homes, see little canals and covered bridges and explore the charming La Petite France neighborhood.
The rest of us will continue to Europa Park, Germany’s biggest amusement park and the second most popular theme park resort in Europe, after Disneyland Paris. You will have approximately 9 hours to spend at Europa Park. The park can accommodate up to approx. 60,000 guests per day. In 2018 they have new roller coasters: Eurosat – CanCan Coaster, Eurosat Coastiality, Madame Freudenreich Curiosités and other.
After the whole day of fun, we will go back to Strasbourg and check-in to our partner accommodation. The rest of the night you have free time to rest from the adventurous day.Perhaps have dinner or go into the city for a couple of drinks.
Sunday 15th April – Strasbourg, Mummelsee, Baden-Baden
Today, after breakfast we will check-out of our hotel and put the luggage on the bus. You can join our private walking tour with our local guide or explore the city on your own. After you will have some free time and after lunch, we will continue to the Black Forest, Mummelsee. Legend has it that an underwater King of Mummelsee and Nix live in its depths – and you can take a picture with them with the lake in the background, you can pedal across it by boat or stroll its shores. You can try the famous “Schwarzwald kuchen”- black forest cherry cake.
Afterwards, we will make our way to Baden-Baden, the Black Forest town which has attracted the rich and celebrities over the years such as Barack Obama and Bismarck, Queen Victoria and Victoria Beckham. You will have free time to explore the city as you please. You can check out the grand colonnaded buildings and luxurious villas spread across the hillsides, open-air cafes, chic boutiques and pristine gardens fringing the Oos River. After dinner, we will board the bus and go back home.
